Thompson House

Thompson House has recently been redeveloped in partnership with Helm Housing Association. It provides supported housing to offenders, offering a place where behaviour can be managed and monitored in the interests of public safety and where permanent accommodation can be planned for and sourced.

About Thompson House

Thompson House can accommodate up to 19 men who the Probation Board NI has referred as needing approved accommodation. Each resident is assessed individually, and a risk management plan is developed and monitored throughout their stay. Residents are expected to live positive lifestyles and engage in training and employment opportunities as part of their rehabilitation.

Services offered at Thompson House:

  • Temporary accommodation in a group setting
  • Support with resettlement for individuals under statutory community supervision.
  • Advice and support to help prepare for independent living.
  • Liaison with housing providers to plan for move on accommodation.
  • Help with budgeting and personal management.

One of the key aims of Thompson House is to commend the Christian faith and way of life in an open and accepting manner.

The hostel is registered with the Criminal Justice Inspectorate who undertake regular inspections. Information can be found on their website www.cjini.org

The United Appeal assists with the funding of the Council for Social Witness, enabling the Council to support the work and Christian witness offered at this hostel.
