Sowing gospel seed in the countryside

Many Bible stories are set in the countryside areas where people live in a closer relationship to the land and the changing seasons are felt more deeply. Perhaps our approach to sharing faith should harness the possibilities of connecting with this way of life.

With more than a third of people across Ireland living in the countryside, this resource has a rural look and feel that will be helpful for congregations in those settings, and others who simply enjoy the natural beauty around us.

Sharing stories: Ours and God’s

Seasons is a four-episode resource that could be used in a variety of settings to open up a conversation about the Christian faith. In a gentle way it encourages reflection and conversation about who God is and how he can bring hope and fullness to life.

The seasons theme

Each stand-alone episode is themed by a season of the year – autumn, winter, spring, summer. Beginning with a video story which unfolds particular seasons of life, participants are then pointed towards a simple passage of Scripture to discuss together in conversational style the difference Jesus can make in the ups and downs of everyday life.

Using Seasons

Seasons could be used in in group settings, one-to-one conversations or as a digital evangelism tool to share with a friend. It could offer a framework for four one off evangelistic conversations located throughout the seasons of church life – harvest (autumn), new year (winter), Easter (spring), Ascension/Pentecost (summer).
