Welcoming New Members

Welcoming new people into the full membership of the church is an important milestone. Each person comes to faith through a unique journey led by the Holy Spirit. ‘Into Full Church Membership’ is a resource that helps explore what it means to follow Jesus, commit to his Church and take part in its life and witness.

About the Resource

The resource consists of a booklet and eight video clips that explore four key themes. It can be used in groups preparing for communicant membership or one-to-one conversations.

The four themes are:

• Believing: Confirming faith in Jesus and desire to live his way
• Living: Making ongoing commitments as a disciple
• Belonging: Becoming part of God’s community
• Sharing: Participating in the Lord’s Supper as a communicant

The Communicant’s Card complements the ‘Into Full Membership’ booklet by giving practical steps for living out the commitment made as a communicant member.
