Edwin & Anne Kibathi
Edwin and Anne relocated to London from the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) in Kenya in 2006. Their vision was to reach out to and minister to the larger East African expatriate community in the UK and began a church planting ministry, known as PCEA UK Outreach.

Edwin and Anne's mission work
The church plant was first established in Plaistow, London, and later operated from Stratford for several years before moving back to Plaistow, where it is currently located. It has continued to grow since then, and at present, the congregation has over 100 adult members. There are also children and young people in the congregation. They meet for worship services every Sunday afternoon at 395 Barking Road in East London and offer a warm welcome to new members and visitors.
In addition, the congregation has a women's guild, a men's fellowship, Sunday school, and a vibrant youth group, each of which takes an active part in the church services during the year. In recent years, three more PCEA fellowships have started in Reading, Luton, and Birmingham. In obedience to the Great Commission, Edwin and Anne interact and network with other churches and Christian organizations within the area. This helps them to contribute their services to the wider community, which they would not otherwise achieve on their own.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, they have introduced online services, which is also helping them reach those who are far from them.

Prayer points
- Give thanks for the vital and growing ministry of PCEA UK Outreach among Kenyans and other East African expatriates in London, Luton, Reading and in other parts of the UK.
- Pray for daily wisdom and strength for Edwin and Anne and those working with them, as they seek to reach out and share the love of Jesus Christ with the many who have practical needs or are facing hardship or difficulties of one kind or another.
- Pray especially for the ministry to children and young people, that they will grow in their understanding of the Christian faith and find spiritual guidance and encouragement, as they attend the various meetings arranged for them.
Edwin and Anne have recorded a short film clip which can be downloaded and used in church services, prayer meetings or events to raise awareness and prayer for what God is doing across the world, as we seek to go deep and wide in global mission involvement.

Greetings from PCEA UK Outreach
The summer is almost over and many of those we had reported last month as travelling are now back. The children and young adults are now busy preparing for a new school year.
The month of September is the time the wider PCEA Church focuses on mission and evangelism. This is usually a time to reflect and take stock of what has happened in the past year, also prayerfully looking ahead to the future asking for God's guidance in relation to where he wants us to be.
Here in the PCEA UK Outreach, this month coincides with our 20th year since we started. In that regard, we will also be looking back as we reflect on the journey and also thank God for his faithfulness. With regard to the four congregations which by the grace of God have been planted, the leadership is aware that each is located in a different place which makes each one unique, with different needs and challenges. This may demand different approaches and hence the need to prayerfully seek the wisdom and guidance of God.
On Saturday 26 September we have arranged to have a joint thanksgiving service which will be held in London. All the other congregations of Luton, Birmingham and Reading will be in attendance.
Prayer Points
- Thank God for journey mercies for all those who travelled to different parts of the world.
- Pray for the youth and children who will be starting a new year in their respective schools, colleges and universities.
- Pray for all the event scheduled to take part in September and in particular the thanks giving service.
- Thank God for the 20 years of his faithfulness and also pray that we will be granted wisdom as we look into the future.
