Edwin & Anne Kibathi
Edwin and Anne relocated to London from the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) in Kenya in 2006. Their vision was to reach out to and minister to the larger East African expatriate community in the UK and began a church planting ministry, known as PCEA UK Outreach.

Edwin and Anne's mission work
The church plant was first established in Plaistow, London, and later operated from Stratford for several years before moving back to Plaistow, where it is currently located. It has continued to grow since then, and at present, the congregation has over 100 adult members. There are also children and young people in the congregation. They meet for worship services every Sunday afternoon at 395 Barking Road in East London and offer a warm welcome to new members and visitors.
In addition, the congregation has a women's guild, a men's fellowship, Sunday school, and a vibrant youth group, each of which takes an active part in the church services during the year. In recent years, three more PCEA fellowships have started in Reading, Luton, and Birmingham. In obedience to the Great Commission, Edwin and Anne interact and network with other churches and Christian organizations within the area. This helps them to contribute their services to the wider community, which they would not otherwise achieve on their own.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, they have introduced online services, which is also helping them reach those who are far from them.

- Give thanks for the vital and growing ministry of PCEA UK Outreach among Kenyans and other East African expatriates in London, Luton, Reading and in other parts of the UK.
- Pray for daily wisdom and strength for Edwin and Anne and those working with them, as they seek to reach out and share the love of Jesus Christ with the many who have practical needs or are facing hardship or difficulties of one kind or another.
- Pray especially for the ministry to children and young people, that they will grow in their understanding of the Christian faith and find spiritual guidance and encouragement, as they attend the various meetings arranged for them.
Edwin and Anne have recorded a short film clip which can be downloaded and used in church services, prayer meetings or events to raise awareness and prayer for what God is doing across the world, as we seek to go deep and wide in global mission involvement.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
In May 2006, my family and I left Kenya and came to London. It felt like a dream, but I was also consciously aware that this event was rooted in a burden God had placed in my heart almost six years earlier. My family was joining me as I responded to God's undeniable call: to do chaplaincy work among the East African diaspora communities in one of the most diverse cities on earth.
When the call came, there was no clarity on where the resources, time, or assistance would come from for this journey. The destination was clear, but the path ahead remained foggy. The journey has not been without seasons of hardships, pain, and loneliness. However, the words of Paul to the Romans in chapter 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose," have been a source of strength.
Glory to God for his presence in every step of faith we took. He provided light to brighten the next step and placed people in strategic positions along our path to walk with us and provide needed resources. In addition to our sending church, PCEA, the Presbyterian Church in Ireland has been a significant partner in this journey through their Mission Board overseas, now Global Mission. Their contribution to this journey is unforgettable and for which we are grateful. Twenty years later, we reflect on a journey marked by God's unwavering faithfulness, miraculous breakthroughs, and the expansion we have seen.
From the small fellowship in 2006, we now have four congregations, while another group that has its roots from the same fellowship has also grown to several congregations. One of the most exciting moments in the journey is to see broken people being healed, restored, and taking up leadership roles. It has also been very encouraging to see some of the children we received and baptized as babies grow both physically and spiritually to a point where they are serving in various roles.
As we step into the future, we are aware that our membership is rapidly changing, and the number of those born and raised in the United Kingdom is growing. At the same time, we have been joined by others from outside East Africa. In this regard, we are changing our strategies and encouraging the members to equip themselves with tools to take the Gospel to all nations. The world is currently at our doorsteps. He has been our Ebenezer and for the journey ahead, we can only trust him for he has promised to be with us always.
