Keynote Speaker: Daniel Caldwell
Daniel Caldwell is originally from Dundonald and has been involved in ministry for over 35 years. He is the Lead Chaplain in the Atlantic Technological University, lectures in palliative care and reflective practice and is senior leader of Sligo City Church. He completed his studies in theology in the UK graduating in 1991 and since then has been involved in church leadership, church planting, as Principal of Carrig Eden Theological College and more recently as a chaplain in the Republic of Ireland. Daniel is co-chair of the AIIHPC (All Ireland Institute Hospice and Palliative Care) Community of Practice for Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy, is a member of the AIIHPC’s Psychological, Social and Spiritual Care Special Interest Group and is also a trustee of Sports Chaplaincy UK and Ireland. He is currently researching how mental health nurses describe, make sense of and contextualise hope in their clinical practice and with colleagues (QUB and City St George's, University of London) is researching spirituality in pre-registration nurse education.
