Presbyterian Moderator Dr John Dixon has written to both John Hume and David Trimble to congratulate them on being awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize.
In paying tribute to both men the Moderator said,
"We are all indebted to you for the leadership you have shown and the risks taken to move our community towards peacefully creating a new society in which everyone has a part to play and where all traditions are honoured and respected.
"I trust this award together with our ongoing prayers will give you renewed courage and enthusiasm to continue in your task."
