A new book of funny stories from the ministry and church life will be launched in the Minor Hall, Church House, Thursday 15th October at 12.30 pm. The book is compiled by the Rev. Frank Sellar, minister of Adelaide Road Doneore Presbyterian, Dublin and includes anecdotal contributions (mainly true we're assured!) from all ecclesiastical quarters.
Over sixty clergymen have contributed over one hundred stories to 'Frankly Speaking'. Of unique signifigance will be the inclusion of some of cartoonist Rowel Friers last works before his death a few weeks ago - his wife will be in attendance at the book launch. 'Frankly Speaking' also features cartoons from Martyn Turner, Irish Times and Phelim Connolly, Irish Independent.
The book is launched to raise money for the 'Road Ahead' project at Adelaide Road, Doneore, which is re - developing the church for outreach purposes and greater community participation. Speaking ahead of the launch Rev Frank Sellar comments:
"The Road Ahead project is a major initiative to develop our work and witness in the centre of Dublin. Already members have shown their commitment raising £400,000 of the £1 million target. 'Frankly Speaking' we hope will raise money but also make more people aware of what we are aiming to do."
