I would express the deep sympathy of the entire Presbyterian Church in Ireland to Mrs O'Reilly and the family, colleagues and friends of Constable Frank O'Reilly.
This is a needless and shocking death brought about by nothing other than vicious hatred.
The ongoing disorder and violence in Portadown by those who protest their loyalty is both inexcusable and indefensible. Before any more tragedy is inflicted I would once again call on those in disagreement in Portadown to step back, think clearly and act courageously and compassionately to resolve the continuing impasse.
