Presbyterian Moderator Dr. John Dixon will conduct a service of thanksgiving in Castleblayney Presbyterian Church on Sunday 21st June, 1998 at 7.00 p.m.
The County Monaghan church has recently undergone major renovations, including the building of a new church hall, together with new toilet and kitchen facilities. Dr. Dixon will officially open the new hall and dedicate memorial gifts from the congregation.
Minister of Castleblayney congregation Rev. Nancy Cubitt is enthusiastic about the service:
"We are delighted that all the renovations have finally been completed and we are all really looking forward to Sunday. We are also especially thrilled to have the new Moderator join with us on this occasion."
Dr. Dixon is no stranger to the area, as he was born, brought up and educated in Clones and was a member of Ballyhobridge congregation before entering the ministry. He too, is looking forward to returning 'home' for the service.
Earlier in the afternoon at 3.30 p.m. Dr. Dixon will also visit St. Mary's Hospital for the elderly and will conduct a short service of worship before meeting with patients and family.
For further information, please contact Rev. Nancy Cubitt, telephone 0035342 46181.
