McCracken Memorial, BelfastOur congregation was formed in 1930 when PCI's Church Extension committee decided to meet the need arising from new development and growth in population in the Upper Malone area of Belfast. Our present building dates from 1934 and was funded by a legacy left by Mary McCracken in memory of her father, whose name it bears. It is spacious and bright, adapted for wheelchairs, fitted with an audio loop and, together with our complex of church halls, provides an ideal setting for our many activities. Our mission statement requires us as members of the family of God to endeavour to honour Him in Worship, learn from His Word, live according to His Will and witness to His Son, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This is central to all our congregational activities and in addition to Sunday worship, we provide opportunities for fellowship, prayer and Bible study to sustain the spiritual health of our congregation. We endeavour to reach out to the South Belfast community and to the wider world. We welcome visitors from all backgrounds and from all parts of the world and are involved in interchurch activities with fellow christians in South Belfast including those in Presbyterian, Methodist, Church of Ireland, and Roman Catholic churches. We have a longstanding and special link with Taughmonagh community church which enriches our congregational life. Our ministers have with one accord preached the essential unity of the Christian Church and this, in words and music, is the vision that McCracken Memorial offers to its members and the character that it strives to present to the outside world.
