Global Concerns Committee

Rev. Dr. Annes Nel convenes the Global Concerns Committee which considers our Christian response to world issues, and how those concerns impact on us as a society in Ireland.  Environmental challenges come under this committee and a panel works diligently to remind the Church of the many issues that are faced today in preserving the creation God has given us.

Another aspect of the Committee’s work is to consider the challenges that come with an increased ability for people to migrate from their own countries.  Recently Ireland has been a place for people to come from all over the world, but that raises issues of integration and respect. Rev. Richard Kerr convenes a group to pray through and act on the challenge of welcoming the stranger - an important biblical theme.

Pray for our Church’s witness in a rapidly changing and challenging world.  Remember those who have travelled from other countries, for whatever reason, and who may be finding it difficult to cope in a strange environment and culture.  Pray that we may be faithful stewards of all the resources God has given us.

Ballygomartin Presbyterian Church

Give thanks that the Farset International Hostel allows Eddie, the evangelist, the freedom to engage and discuss with folks about church and the Bible.

‘40 Days of Prayer for Nepal’ campaign

In April, the Nepali Christian community asked Christians around the world to join them in 40 Days of Global Prayer for their country and its people, from 10th April to 19th May.

Pray for a renewed zeal and passion for prayer, and that the Kingdom of God will be established across Nepal.

Pray for there to be at least one church and one trained leader in each village throughout Nepal.

Pray for church growth among the Nepali diaspora around the world.
